Once inside Discord, navigate to the “newbies” channel and enter the command /imagine. This command will prompt the system to display a text input box. You can then provide descriptive text to instruct the software to generate four images. After a few seconds, the images will appear and you can choose the one that best fits your purpose.

The terms of service must be accepted the first time the software is used. Additionally, there is the option to add Midjourney on your own Discord server. You should click on the bot and select the option to add it to the server.

One such alternative is Openjourney, which can produce results comparable to Midjourney's and is completely free. However, you need a fairly powerful computer to run it and a compatible GPU to run it smoothly.
Another option is Leonardo AI, which is currently Midjourney's main competitor. Leonardo AI is still in the testing phase but allows you to create a limited number of free images per day. One of its strengths is the availability of different image-generation engines, which can be useful when you are looking for a specific aesthetic.
Other useful and free software options exist, such as Blue Willow, DALL-E, and Adobe Firefly. These tools can generate images very similar to Midjourney but with some limitations.
